A House Tour

We are in the home stretch now! Within the next two weeks we should be able to officially call this place home. Here's a quick look around so you can see what's been going on.

Pretend there isn't a big giant dumpster in the front yard :)

This is coming in from the back door. The living room will be in that first area to the right. The butcher block counter in the middle of the room is the going to go into the office for a desktop.

The kitchen came out so perfect. Its exactly how I imagined it (the ceiling isn't crooked, I promise).

This is the master bedroom.

The laundry room. The cabinets on the floor are going to be installed over the sink and stacked washer/dryer.

The interior of the house is starting to get some love now. It's fun seeing all the choices we made months ago start to take shape.

The tile has been installed. This is the kids bathroom:

The trim is all up. I'm SO happy with our choice of simple, plain boards. Love it. :)

The doors have been hung:

Have I mentioned I LOVE the trim?

The exterior has been painted. The front door will be red eventually.

The drywall is ready to be painted. This view is from the dining room looking towards the living room/back door:

Sam installed the plywood for the attic floor:

For the record... I did not approve this activity :) That boy of mine is fearless!

The project for this weekend is to get this sad excuse for a yard looking a little more presentable. The plan is to remove a few trees and getting it all leveled out so it can be mowed.

We were worried about removing this tree because its so close to our carport, but luckily only 3 paving stones and a small strip of concrete were damaged when he pulled it over.

A real roof with shingles and everything!! Yay! They've also started adding the furring strips for the siding.

And let's not forget the windows :)

There has been a lot going on inside the house. Important things... but hard to photograph things.

Like plumbing and bathtubs:

And today our shingles were delivered :)
